Quantum LCT20 10GB From Customer's order We placed a floppy in the computer and the screen went black. Attempts to reboot the PC failed. The BIOS no longer sees the drive. We tried the drive in another PC and the drive was not recognized by BIOS either.
After recovery: Thank you for recovering our data! ..is very much appreciated.

Hitachi IC25N040ATMR04 40 GB laptop From Customer's order Drive missing in BIOS at system start. No other recover attempted as data is too precious! Drive simply removed from Gateway laptop and mounting chassis removed.

Samsung SP0802N 80 GB From Customer's order I placed one working drive on top of another to get at a screw. The phone rang and I answered it about 10 minutes later I completed screwing the drives into their places. The screen was frozen. I rebooted and it never got into the OS as it said a file had been corrupted. I ran check disk and it told me that the c-drive was good. It would not complete a check disk on the d-drive as one or more files are corrupted. I had a local company come to my home as their advertisement said the do data recovery. A waste of money. The technician listened to what I said. Tried to boot it using my software and then he said the drive was not spinning. I told him that he had to be mistaken as I had successfully run chkdsk. He was not fazed. Although he pointed out a capacitor or a resistor on the drive and noted it had been damaged. It is on the left side of the drive about an inch and a half down from the bar code. He stated he could not do anything for me at that point and charged $75 for his service.
