Toshiba MK1032GAX 100 GB laptop From Customer's order Unhappily, I overrode a warning dialogue box when I recently installed an upgrade to Norton Utilities. The warning said a macro related to a DLL file was corrupted. I tried several time to quarantine the macro, but the warning was still there the next times I tried to install the upgrade, so finally I took a chance and overrode the warning. Windows XP worked for a while after that, then failed. Now I get a white-on-black screen which announces that Windows has shut down to protect the files on the HD and gives me several re-start choices, but none gets XP working again. All of them just cause a re-boot, which brings up the same white-on-black screen again.

Toshiba MK6021GAS 60 GB laptop From Customer's order Drive on powering up failed to boot up. Spin up. Drive was not recognized. There had been no error messages prior to it failing, nor were there any strange noises, no clicking or unusual whining sounds. Repair company gave HDD a cursorily attempt to boot it up. I have only placed it inside an external enclosure hoping to attempt a software recovery approach. However the drive failed to boot up, was not recognized by my other computer and so now I send it to you.
