Mac recovery Note

Data recovered from HFS, HFS+ file system to Windows native file system would yield two files for every recovered file, i.e.

a) Data Fork
b) Resource Fork

But once restored to HFS or HFS+ they would be treated as single and working file by MAC.

The success of data recovery mostly depends on how quick the hard drive was SHUT OFF after the failure occurred.

We use non-destructive recovery procedures to recover data. We scan and copy each sector of failed drive to image and work off that image, not your hard drive.

Mac recovery: Transferring from PC to MAC computer

Restoring data back to Apple Mac

Please, be advised, that we deliver recovered MAC data (files and folders) that are stored on the PC-media: PC-compatible CD/DVD or MS Windows (NTFS) formatted hard drive. That's because we are from the PC world: We recover and copy data using PC computers.

However, you can transfer files from PC media to Mac computer using one of the safe methods

1st Method: Copy the data to any removable device and attach the device, which is recognized by the Apple Mac, like external USB or Firewire drive etc.

It is worth mentioning that Mac OS X (Panther 10.3.x) can now read NTFS Volumes; this means that you can copy files from an external drive (formatted with NTFS) to a Mac running Panther.

However, if you have an older MAC OS, you need a PC computer with pre-installed software like MacDrive from MediaFour or MacOpener from DataViz. These 3rd party software products allow using MAC-disks with Windows systems.

For example, to transfer files from DVD-R(or spare HDD) with recovered data, you connect some external drive to PC computer with Windows XP. If your external drive is MAC-formatted, you be able to copy your data from DVD directly on that drive, using any windows file manager, including "MS Explorer".
If you don't have ready MAC-formatted external drive, you can do it on the PC computer using the same software. (Go to "My Computer" window; Right-Click on the external drive and choose "Mac format….")
Copy files from PC-media to external Mac drive, then connect that drive to you MAC computer.

Note: Data recovered from HFS, HFS+ file system to Windows native file system would yield two files for every recovered file, i.e.
a) Data Fork
b) Resource Fork
But once restored to HFS or HFS+ they would be treated as single and working file by MAC.

2st Method: Data can be transferred to Apple Mac through network as well within windows network, as shown below

The apple machine and the PC who are on the same network can share the data, just enable sharing for the folder where data has been recovered and then locate the folder from MAC.
